We walked across the North Yorkshire Moors in the Summer. Mrs Middleton had attempted this walk on 2 previous adventures. It was different this time as she completed the walk and became a Lyke Wake Witch. Well done to her for a great effort.
We have been raising money for Bassetlaw Hospice and the walk has helped us be very successful in collecting £2000 for the cause. We are delighted to do this in memory of our two friends that have passed away recently.
Staff from both schools are going to do the Lyke Wake Walk in Memory of two special people. Julia Roberts, a teaching assistant from Norbridge and David Mallaby, the husband of Mrs Mallaby at Langold Dyscarr.
Both of our friends were looked after by Bassetlaw Hospice during their illness and we want to raise as much money as possible for this worthy cause. Please get in touch if you want to donate and we would love your comments as we set of our walk on July 20th 2012. We will update the blog share what we are doing with you.
We have done a number of team building events at school. The Lyke Wake Walk is one of them. We loved doing it so much in the Summer we thought it would be great to do a Winter crossing. It consists of walking, scrambling and crawling 42 miles over the North Yorkshire Moors. We will be doing it this time in aid of Help For Heroes. We thought we would share some of our pictures from the previous trip. We hope you enjoy it.
We will also be blogging from the trip from 9pm on 17th December 2011. We would enjoy your comments and experiences of the great outdoors.
Members of staff are going on a winter crossing of The Lyke Wake Walk. We set off on Saturday 17th December at 9pm from Osmotherly. We are looking forward to the challenge and we welcome others to the group. We will be updating the blog as we travel. We would love some messages of support.
